Portrait of Clare Cousins

Principle Clare Cousins

Architect Clare Cousins founded her eponymous practice in 2005, after several years’ diverse professional experience with some of Australia’s most respected architectural firms. CCA has since amassed a suite of significant projects, with a strong focus on context, materiality and a collaborative client-architect relationship.

Though the practice to date has largely focused on residential and retail projects, with clients such as Aesop, it is currently undertaking a mixed-use development in the Bendigo CBD.

Widely published, and with numerous industry awards to its name, Clare Cousins Architecture has also provided pro-bono design services for the Bushfire Home Service, and to other clients who lost their homes in the Black Saturday bushfires.

Maintaining a balanced professional profile, Clare has mentored for the Australian Institute of Architects women's mentoring programme, and is regularly involved in industry awards panels and tertiary critiques.
